Neem in India
Leaf spot
It is an important foliage disease caused by Cercosporasubressilis H. & P. Sydow. The fungus forms
numerous necrotic spots on the leaves. The spots later coalesce to cause drying of the leaves. The
fungus sporulates on the under surface of' the leaf and produces conidia during humid conditions.
The conidia are disseminated by wind, water, insects, etc., and are responsible for large-scale spread
of the disease. Mycelium and sclerotia in diseased plant debris are chief means of carryover.
